We inspect the floor condition, confirm the floor type (boards, parquet, engineered or solid wood), and identify any issues that need addressing before sanding begins. This is where we plan the safest sanding method and the most suitable finish system for the room.
Where required, we will perform all neccessary floor repairs. We'll secure loose boards or blocks, replace damaged sections, and stabilise problem areas before sanding. Correct preparation prevents weak spots and improves the final finish.
We sand the floor through progressively finer grits to remove old coatings, level unevenness, and refine the timber. We use dust‑controlled extraction to significantly reduce airborne dust during the sanding process.
Edges, corners and tight areas are finished with specialist edging machines and hand tools to achieve a consistent result up to skirting lines and thresholds.
Where appropriate, we fill gaps and minor imperfections using the most suitable method for the floor type and expected movement. Final sanding passes leave the surface smooth and ready for finishing.
We apply the chosen finish system (lacquer, oil, or colour finish where suitable) in the correct number of coats with proper drying time. We then inspect the result and provide clear aftercare guidance so the finish performs well long term.
